Research title
Intentionality in Wittgenstein's later philosophy: the grammar of psychological concepts and the problem of harmony between thought and reality.
Research abstract

The relation of Wittgenstein's later works to the problems of intentionality is an often neglected subject by the commentators, compared to other aspects of his philosophy of mind. The current project seeks to understand how the problems of intentionality are dealt with in his later works, specifically in the Philosophical Investigations. With this aim in mind, we plan to bring to light how he dealt with this theme in his earlier writings, and to conclude in what measure his later writings present or not a reaction to his thought at the time of the publication of Tractatus. This is done through the critique of the referentialists conceptions of meaning, the problems involved in the processes of understanding and meaning something (meinen), and the analysis of the grammar of the psychological concepts, specifically those pertaining to intentional phenomena. At least, we aim to show what kind of relation between thought, language and world Wittgenstein has in mind in the Investigations.
